Toyota's bZ4X battery-electric SUV range is expanding in May 2026 with the arrival of a new flagship grade: the bZ4X Touring. If you have been watching the bZ4X with interest but wanted something with a bit more room, more performance, or a more distinctive look, the Touring grade is worth understanding before it lands.
At Kalamunda Toyota, we will have bZ4X Touring examples arriving from May. Here is a straightforward rundown of what the new grade brings and who it is likely to suit.
The bZ4X Touring is the new top-grade addition to Toyota's updated bZ4X family. The rest of the range has also recently been upgraded across driving range, power output, and specification, so the Touring arrives into a stronger overall lineup.
The most significant difference in the Touring grade is its extended body. An additional 140mm behind the rear axle, combined with a more upright tailgate, grows the luggage volume from 452 litres in the standard bZ4X to 603 litres in the Touring. [2] That is a meaningful jump for a family that regularly loads up for weekends away.
Beyond the body change, the Touring also brings a more distinctive visual identity. Standard features include 20-inch black alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, ladder-style roof rails, resin black wheel arch cladding, a bonnet insert, and a rear window wiper that the rest of the range does not have.
The bZ4X Touring is AWD-only, powered by two 167kW electric motors producing a combined system output of 280kW. The 0 to 100km/h sprint takes 4.4 seconds. That is the strongest performance output of any Toyota passenger SUV currently available.
The 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery delivers 488km of driving range on the WLTP cycle. [3] For Hills residents who commute to Perth and back, or who use their car for longer regional runs, that is a practical number in real-world terms, with some buffer for heating, air conditioning, and driving style.
Charging is supported at up to 150kW via CCS2 DC fast charging and up to 22kW via three-phase AC charging for home or workplace top-ups.
The bZ4X Touring carries across the premium specification found in the bZ4X AWD and adds to it. Key standard features include:
Six metallic and pearlescent paint colours are available, including the newly introduced Daylight Bronze metallic. All six can be paired with either black or the Touring-exclusive khaki synthetic leather upholstery. [6]
The full bZ4X range pricing from May 2026 is as follows. All prices are manufacturer's list price excluding on-road costs. [1]
| Grade | Manufacturer's List Price (excl. on-road costs) |
| Toyota bZ4X 2WD | $55,990 |
| Toyota bZ4X AWD | $67,990 |
| Toyota bZ4X Touring | $69,990 |
Optional paint is available at $575 across all grades. A two-tone roof option is available on the AWD at $1,350.
A number of purchase offers are currently available on the bZ4X 2WD and AWD grades for eligible customers. The following offers apply to new and demonstrator 2WD and AWD models with October 2025 build date or later. They do not apply to the Touring grade.
Deposit Bonus with Toyota Finance [7]
Eligible private, Bronze, and demonstrator category customers can access a $5,000 deposit bonus on the bZ4X 2WD and a $7,500 deposit bonus on the bZ4X AWD when purchasing with Toyota Finance. Maximum finance term 72 months. Excludes lease products. Vehicle must be ordered and finance application received by 30 June 2026, with settlement by 14 July 2026.
The bZ4X Touring comes with an extensive battery warranty package for buyers who want long-term peace of mind with a battery-electric vehicle.
The bZ4X Touring is built for drivers who want a practical electric SUV with genuine family carrying capacity, strong performance, and a distinctive look. The 603 litre boot addresses one of the most common practical objections to the standard bZ4X, and the 488km WLTP range covers most everyday and weekend use cases comfortably.
It suits drivers who do the bulk of their driving on sealed roads, whether that is the commute to Perth, school runs, or longer road trips interstate. The skid plates, roof rails, and raised ride height give it a capable appearance, but it is not designed for serious off-road use. If that is a requirement, the Prado or LandCruiser remain the better options from Toyota's range.
If you are considering your first electric vehicle, the bZ4X Touring's charging flexibility, battery warranty, and Toyota dealer support network make it a lower-risk way to make the switch.
