LandCruiser 300 Hybrid: Pricing and Specs Confirmed for Australia banner

Pricing and specifications are now confirmed for the new LandCruiser 300 hybrid, the most powerful LandCruiser ever produced.

Toyota Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for the new LandCruiser 300 hybrid^9^. The performance hybrid powertrain is the most powerful any LandCruiser has ever produced and will be available exclusively in the GR Sport and Sahara ZX grades. The GR Sport opens at $156,060 RRP^1^ and the Sahara ZX at $156,810 RRP^1^, with on-road costs and statutory charges excluded. The new LandCruiser 300 hybrid will go on sale in Australia from the middle of 2026.

At Kalamunda Toyota, the only car dealership in the Perth Hills, our team is now taking expressions of interest from local customers who want to be in the queue when the hybrid LandCruiser arrives. The new powertrain pairs a Toyota i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo V6 with a single electric motor-generator and a ten-speed automatic transmission, delivering a combined maximum 341kW of power and 790Nm of torque. That is 114kW more power and 90Nm more torque than the LandCruiser 300 V6 turbo-diesel.

Pricing and grades at a glance

Toyota Australia has confirmed pricing for the two LandCruiser 300 hybrid grades. The new performance hybrid powertrain is offered exclusively in the GR Sport and Sahara ZX, with the rest of the LandCruiser 300 range continuing with the existing 3.3-litre V6 turbo-diesel.

What is a performance hybrid?

Toyota offers two distinct hybrid system types in Australia. The hybrid systems used in the Toyota hybrid SUV line-up like RAV4, Kluger, and Corolla Cross are tuned for fuel efficiency. They use the electric motor to reduce petrol engine load at low speed and during light driving, which improves fuel consumption.

The performance hybrid system in the LandCruiser 300 is engineered for a different goal. It is a parallel hybrid system that combines the i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with a single electric motor-generator placed between the engine and the ten-speed automatic transmission. The two power sources can work together or independently. The objective is more torque under load, smoother power delivery on demanding terrain, and stronger response when towing or carrying heavy loads.

Toyota Australia first introduced this i-FORCE MAX architecture to the local market in the Toyota Tundra ute. The LandCruiser 300 hybrid is the second Australian application of the platform.

Hybrid 4WD in Australia: where the LandCruiser 300 hybrid sits

Hybrid 4WD options in Australia have been limited until now. Toyota's 48-volt mild-hybrid system in the LandCruiser Prado and the latest HiLux provides modest electric assistance for low-speed driving and start-stop efficiency. The LandCruiser 300 hybrid takes the next step. It is a full hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) with a parallel one-motor system and meaningful electric output, retaining full-time four-wheel drive, low-range gearing, and the off-road hardware that has defined the LandCruiser nameplate for decades.

For Australian drivers looking at a large hybrid SUV that genuinely tows and goes off-road, the LandCruiser 300 hybrid is one of the few options arriving in 2026. The performance hybrid powertrain has been engineered to deliver strong torque under heavy load. Specific towing capacity figures for the hybrid grades will be confirmed by Toyota Australia closer to launch. Always check the vehicle's Owner's Manual and the Toyota Basic Towing Guide before attaching loads^5^.

GR Sport: the off-road focused flagship

The LandCruiser 300 GR Sport is the off-road focused grade in the hybrid line-up. It carries fully lockable front and rear differentials, electronically-controlled E-KDSS suspension, full-time four-wheel drive, five-mode multi-terrain select, and adaptive variable suspension. The hybrid grades use electric power steering, a change from the hydraulic steering retained on diesel 300 Series models.

Inside, the GR Sport has leather-accented upholstery and trim, heated and ventilated front seats and outboard rear seats with power operation for the front, a 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen, and a 14-speaker JBL audio system. Both hybrid grades gain a 200V/1500W rear auxiliary power socket capable of running small appliances at a campsite, and a 40/20/40-split rear seat back.

Sahara ZX: the premium grade

The Sahara ZX is the premium hybrid grade. It carries a rear Torsen limited-slip differential and the same five-mode multi-terrain select and adaptive variable suspension as the GR Sport, with a more luxury-leaning interior treatment. The cabin is finished in leather-accented upholstery and trim with heated and ventilated front seats and outboard rear seats. A dual rear-seat entertainment system is standard, which earns its place on long family trips. Both hybrid grades share the same 14-speaker JBL audio system and 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen.

Built for towing and going further off the tarmac

The performance hybrid system delivers strong, responsive torque under heavy load - the kind of performance the Hills lifestyle calls for. Combined with the full-time four-wheel drive system and adaptive variable suspension, the GR Sport and Sahara ZX hybrid grades are positioned as the most capable LandCruiser models Toyota has produced. Whether you are heading north with a caravan in tow, taking the boat down to the South West, or working the LandCruiser hard on Hills tracks and rural blocks, the new powertrain is the headline feature. Specific towing capacity figures for the hybrid grades will be confirmed by Toyota Australia closer to launch. Always check the vehicle's Owner's Manual and the Toyota Basic Towing Guide before attaching loads^5^.
