Day trips around Perth

As West Australians, most of us feel quite lucky to be stuck in WA at the moment when comparing it to other states and countries. If you’re looking for some inspiration on where to go this weekend around Perth, we have compiled a list of places to go that are right on our door step!

Swan Valley

Well known for their beautiful wineries. Make a day of it, get your friends together and book in at a few of the wineries, do some tastings and a long lunch. Your biggest problem will be choosing which winery you want to go to.

Kalamunda

With an abundance of walking trails and hikes, you'll want to explore Kalamunda if you haven't already. If you go for a hike on a Sunday you can tie this in with a visit to the Kalamunda farmers markets. For your weekly fruit and veg shop, with fresh locally sourced produce you won’t be disappointed. These markets are on every Sunday morning, click here for more information.

Fremantle

The iconic Fremantle has something for everyone, whether you’re a foodie, enjoy shopping or just looking for a good pub to sit and watch the footy Fremantle is the place to be. The main café strip is normally heaving on a Saturday and Sunday so there is a lot of atmosphere. Make sure you pop your head in at the Fremantle markets with stalls ranging from candles through to beef jerky!

Caversham Wildlife Park

Dog & kid friendly! This park has great walking tracks, a specific dog area you can let your furry friends off the leash and kids play grounds. Great for the whole family, this is a great day out. Although with not much shelter it is worth checking out the rain forecast before heading here.

Kings Park

One of the best sunsets in Perth (we think so anyway). Take a picnic up to Kings park, take the kids, take the dog and enjoy the serenity! With beautifully manicured gardens it is worth walking around and taking it all in. Perch up on top of the hill and watch Perth city light up as the sun goes down.

Lancelin

A little further away from Perth, Lancelin has great beaches, four wheel driving, fishing and even better sand boarding! There are tours you can book or take your own sandboard and give it a go.
